Kart Expo 2005, St Charles, IL, USA
After the successes of the Telford (UK) Kart Show and AutoSport International (NEC, Birmingham, UK), the SuperSport team once again packed their bags and headed for St Charles, just outside of Chicago, Illinois, USA for the 2005 Kart Expo Show.
This would be the fourth time that SuperSport had attended Kart Expo, the largest show of its type in the USA.
Interest in SuperSport has been growing,
year-on-year, but even we would not have predicted the incredible response to
the 2005 product line-up.
The show is held at the Pheasant Run Hotel and Conference Facility in February each year, guaranteeing snow and "biting" winds and this year was no exception. This does not seem to be a barrier to visitors though with many flying from East and West Coasts of the USA.
This year, SuperSport took TWO stands, one a double-size. These were to separate the Corporate, Rental and FEC markets from the new Range of Club systems which have generated a lot of interest in the UK already.
From our PERMANENT office in the USA (Fort
Lauderdale, FL), SuperSport had already arranged for
a
number of Rental/Corporate
system demonstrations and everyone who saw the 2005 product range expressed
their views that the system combined ease of use, powerful functions and a
price/support package that they would
find difficult to resist.
When combined with SuperSport's unmatched track record with Timing, Scoring and Circuit Management systems (now over 25 years in Timing and 20 years involvement with Karting circuits) it provides a strong sense of optimism for the SuperSport management and staff.
The 2005 range included, however, for the first time
the USA, the WinTime Club Pro software aimed solidly at the Owner-Driver Kart
Club Market.
To ensure that this high-performance software received the attention it is due, SuperSport took a second stand at the Show. The stand proved a hit with many Kart Clubs visiting over the 2 days. The biggest problem the SuperSport team encountered was that users of existing systems had trouble believing just how simple the system was to use and how powerful it was compared to their existing software.
The SuperSport team now have the job of following up every "lead" that was generated and to arrange for further "at-track" demonstrations and on-site installations.
Clubs were generally impressed with the price-conscious, fully automatic "Lap-Countdown" display, the "LIVE" internet results system and the quality of race report printouts and data export functions built in to ALL of SuperSport's range for 2005.
SuperSport will continue to post details of circuits (with their permission) taking advantage of the powerful 2005 range. Check back here regularly for updates!
