Hunts Kart Racing Club
The Hunts Kart Racing Club at
Kimbolton, Cambs, UK has become like a second home for the SuperSport Team
recently.
The new committee of the club is determined to make HKRC at Kimbolton the very finest place for owner drivers to race in the East Midlands and East Anglia.
Virtually every club has some form of "counter" to show drivers the remaining race time. It is usually in the form of a "flip" chart or a "push-button" flip-over display.
HKRC
is the first to install the latest
FULLY AUTOMATIC system from SuperSport. Linked to the timing computer, the sign
constantly displays the remaining race time (or distance) without any human
intervention.
The photograph on the left was taken at the March Race meeting which was a VERY sunny day. The sign can be easily read in the brightest of sunshine.
The system automatically counts down the remaining laps (or time) ensuring that every driver is aware of the time remaining, also displaying "LAST LAP" and "RACE END" as appropriate.
Between races the sign will
display any text that a club desires, usually to inform drivers of the next
meeting, notices from the Clerk of the Course (Race Director), or the start time
of finals etc.
The Sign at Kimbolton is mounted on the same gantry as the start/finish lights and most drivers commented that it was easier to see than the old system.
SuperSport are already looking forward to a major meeting held at Kimbolton each year, the TKM Festival, when in excess of 300 drivers and teams will see the revolutionary system in operation KNOWING that human error cannot have affected the display of remaining time for them.
