FunHouse - Dawsonville, GA
FunHouse is a new Family Entertainment Centre in Dawsonville, GA. Dawsonville is 70 miles north of Atlanta and has a large community to draw from in the surrounding areas. The nearest Family Entertainment Centre is down in Atlanta and so Bob and his team have built an impressive facility to serve the local requirements.
Within
the indoor facility is a 10-lane bowling alley, superb crazy golf course, an
arcade packed with the very latest video machines and, of course, an indoor
kart track as well as a food court, gift-shopping area and much, much more.
After checking the many different
packages and solutions available the owners of FunHouse decided to go with
SuperSport for their timing and scoring needs based upon SuperSport's
impressive 25 year background in the industry, their extensive customer
base, and personal recommendation from other users of the systems.
Bob chose the "FunTime-XP" package (specially written for FEC type operations) and is most happy with the way the system makes his circuit so automated in the way it works.
Drivers purchase ride cards at the main reception desk. When presented at the kart track a short safety briefing is given and drivers then proceed onto the circuit. At the end of their ride, an indicator flashes on the steering wheel of the kart and the kart's speed is automatically reduced just before they arrive at the Pit-Lane entrance. This reduces the staffing levels required to actually run the track.
The
computer system automatically controls the track and pit-lane "traffic
lights" and the speed controllers on the karts themselves. This gives the
operator a one-button push safety feature unique to SuperSport.
By the time they have climbed out of
their kart a result "ticket" has been printed on a low-running cost
high-speed thermal printer so they have a record of their performance on the
track.
At the end of each day the system will produce an "audit trail" so the management can ensure that track usage ties up with ticket sales.
